Technical details

VAXA's patented technology leverages the Icelandic clean energy ecosystem in a science-backed validated methodology replacing beef, a carbon-intensive product, with Icelandic Ultra Spirulina (IUS), a carbon-neutral alternative.

The project is designed to produce GHG emission reductions of more than 100 million tonnes of CO2e over the next 15 years.

The VAXA project meets governance, emissions, and sustainability requirements with a complete audit trail, full traceability, and transparency. In addition, IUS is used in the VAXA ACTION Impact Nutrition Program as an ingredient to fortify traditional foods of malnourished communities, with the first program launched in Tanzania. The Icelandic Government has granted the project an SDG Grant to launch the nutrition program in collaboration with The Food Institute of Iceland, local stakeholders, and an Australian Charity. As our partnerships grow, we will be able to support more communities across the globe.
