Improved Forest Management
In the climate project “Marienthal”, Pina Earth transforms 163 hectares made up of uniform pine forest in Brandenburg into a near-natural biodiverse forest. By doing so, the project avoids and removes over 10,500 tons of CO₂ emissions over 30 years from the atmosphere, preparing the forest for future climatic conditions.
The following activities are financed and implemented as part of the climate project:
(1) planting of various climate-resistant tree species such as coastal fir, douglas fir and larch, (2) promoting the natural rejuvenation of young trees such as beech, douglas fir, maple, English oak and European larch, (3) improving wildlife management
By implementing these activities, the Marienthal project drives regional climate protection, while strengthening biodiversity and contributing to society reaching the Paris Agreement.
