Project Description

ACR 801 NativState - Mixed Upland Forests of the Ozarks & Ouachita Mountains (PDA) will aggregate forestlands from across northern Arkansas and implement certified sustainable forest management, providing significant climate benefits through carbon sequestration from native forests. Biodiversity forms the foundation of life for communities across the globe. We rely on biodiverse native forests for food, water, medicine, a stable climate, and economic growth. Improved Forest Management protects and nurtures biodiversity.

“The NativState Forest Carbon Program allowed our family to make the decision to purchase a beautiful healthy forest adjacent to our property that creates an important buffer to protect the integrity of our small scale diversified organic farm. Forest carbon revenue will allow us to conserve a more biologically diverse and connected landscape so our farm will thrive well into the future for our children and future generations.” -Tara Stainton, Participating Landowner
