Biochar
Project Highlights:
Project Description:
Easychar, managed under the Puro standard, revolutionizes energy for businesses, exemplified at Bladnoch distillery. The whole-scale integration drastically reduces the distillery's LPG consumption by 80%, yielding 1728 T of biochar annually and removing 4579.20 T of CO2e.
The Easychar concept seamlessly integrates biochar production units into the distillery's energy supply stream. Heat generated during biochar production is harnessed to produce steam essential for the distillery's operations. Biochar and carbon credits become valuable by-products in this process.
The impact is multifaceted as the distillery aims to distribute the biochar locally, benefiting farmers and anaerobic digestion plants. This distribution strategy contributes positively to the local environment.
CORCs play a pivotal role in Easychar's business model, ensuring economic viability. The concept generates three crucial products: energy for the host business, biochar, and CORCs. The synergy of these elements is integral to the commercial solidity of Easychar.
In addition to the distillery, Easychar targets Scottish whisky production, reflecting its commitment to sustainable energy within its home region. The concept is versatile and open to sharing its benefits with businesses globally, including greenhouses, vertical farms, residential and council buildings, offices, warehouses, and any location with a demand for thermal energy.
