CarbonCure captures waste carbon dioxide, which would have otherwise been emitted into the atmosphere, and utilizes that gas as a feedstock in the production of concrete.

This reaction involves the following steps:

1. CO₂ Injection: Gaseous carbon dioxide is injected into freshly mixed concrete. 2. Mineral Formation: The CO₂ reacts with calcium ions (Ca²⁺), which are abundant in the cement paste, to form solid calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), which precipitates as nano-sized crystals.
