The project produces clean energy for the Colombian power grid with a low-emissions technology using the flow of water. It directly supports Colombia's contribution to: 1) Reaching climate mitigation and renewable energy goals. 2) Improving working conditions and increased employment opportunities in the project influence area. 3) Developing local and regional economies, including through technological capacity-building. 4) Funding local health services and infrastructure. 5) Clarifying title rights over plots of land within the project area, helping land owners access agro-credits using the land as guarantee. 6) Developing road access in isolated areas.
