Technical details

The AgroEcology_Italy project is revolutionizing Italian agriculture by promoting regenerative practices, agroforestry, and sustainable land management to enhance soil health, biodiversity, and long-term carbon sequestration. As Italy’s first and only internationally validated carbon farming project, it sets a benchmark for sustainability and climate action, offering a scalable model for agricultural transformation.

Recognized as a “first-of-its-kind” project by BeZero Carbon, AgroEcology_Italy has achieved a BBB rating, making it one of the most credible nature-based carbon removal initiatives in Europe. Unlike conventional offset projects, it focuses exclusively on removals, ensuring tangible and verifiable climate benefits.

By working directly with small and medium sized farmers, the project removes barriers to adoption through financial incentives, technical expertise, and access to high-integrity carbon markets. This approach not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also enhances farm resilience, improves water retention, and supports ecosystem restoration.

AgroEcology_Italy is setting new standards for carbon farming in the Mediterranean, leading the way in climate-smart agriculture and long-term carbon sequestration, positioning Italy as a global leader in sustainable land stewardship.
