Project Description

AgriCapture's CAR1641 project is a dedicated effort to conserve rangelands in Bailey County, Texas, ensuring their preservation for at least 150 years. This property, characterized by native and introduced grass species, limited tree canopy, and diverse vegetation including woody shrubs, legumes, and forbs, perfectly fits the Grassland definition.

The initiative involves obtaining a conservation easement held by the Texas Agricultural Land Trust, covering the entire project area. This easement safeguards the land from conversion to other uses, guaranteeing its integrity as a grassland. Notably, the property, privately-owned before the project, has maintained its grassland state for over 30 years, showcasing a longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, the property exhibits suitable Land Capability Class soil map units for potential crop cultivation conversion, ensuring a balanced approach to land use while preserving its unique ecological characteristics. AgriCapture's CAR1641 contributes significantly to the long-term conservation and ecological health of Bailey County's rangelands.
