The Methodology
Improved Agricultural Land Management projects incentivize a variety of improved practices including improved fertilizer use, reduced tillage, crop rotations, and rotational grazing. These practices enhance carbon sequestration in the soil and reduce methane and nitrous oxide emissions. Additionally, these projects can effect improved soil health, erosion reduction, and improved economic revenue for farmers involved.
Project Description
The Agoro Carbon Pastureland project is delivering a solution to the world’s carbon challenge that is grounded in the soil. The project implements a package of regenerative agricultural land management activities such as nutrient management, increasing species diversity, rotational grazing, and other regenerative practices to remove GHG emissions from agricultural pastureland.
The project provides the financial, agronomic, and educational support needed for ranchers to implement regenerative land management practices on pasturelands that not only produce agricultural products sustainably and profitably but also have a positive impact on climate change.
Agoro Carbon credits are additional, encompass strong permanence characteristics, contribute to a variety of benefits beyond carbon sequestration, and are reinforced by a robust MRV framework underpinned by physical soil sample measurements.
